Triumph Packaging is an over 50-year-old folding carton manufacturing business known for it’s industry-leading speed-to-market, quality and attention to detail. We are looking for a suitable Tymi Machine Coating Operator who will join the Litho Print Department in our Cornubia, Durban Manufacturing Facility and will report directly to the Lithographic Print Manager.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
The successful incumbent will be responsible for applying UV varnish to Litho Printend sheets. They will also be responsible for maintaining consistent quality Litho print acccord and reducing UV print waste. You will need to ensure that high quality standards are maintained at all times by achieving production efficiencies set out by the managenent.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Maintain machine to specific guidelines set out by the supplier & Triumph Packaging.
- Follow work schedule and plan next print job.
- Ensure that the correct UV coverage in area on printed cartons that require UV is achieved.
- Ensure correct mechanical set-up of the press from feeder through to the delivery.
- Accurately cut stencil areas according to die line profile.
- Patch sheet with ink and bump through the press. Neatly cut away all varnish free hatched areas on the blanket.
- Record all UV print information captured on an official time sheet document or via Printvis system.
- Report maintenance problems via the correct system.
- Housekeeping and press conditions to be always maintained and kept in good working condition.
- Ensure all lawful instructions are carried out according to company’s standard operating procedure as well as food company policies.
WHO YOU ARE:
- Must have Matric/Grade 12.
- Lithography Trade Test would be an added advantage.
- Must have minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in a same/similar role with machinery technical knowledge.
- Position is a shift role – must be willing to work shifts and overtime when required.
- Must be able to work both independently with no supervision and within a team.
- You must be deadline driven and able to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Must have excellent and clear communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Must have problem solving abilities, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks while adhering to deadline.
